As an organisation inherently concerned with the health and welfare of people, we understand the importance of recognising diversity – of treating the people who work for us as individuals and of meeting the individual needs of the people who use our services.
As part of our compliance with the public sector equality duty under the Equality Act 2010, we are publishing the information set out below on people with certain protected characteristics who either work for us or use our services. ‘Protected characteristics’ include age, disability sex, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment and pregnancy and maternity.
On this page you will find: our Equality Objectives for 2017, our up to date Equality and Diversity System 2 Rating Outcome and a variety of reports containing information on some of the protected characteristics and wider relevant background information, such as quality indicators and analysis of patient feedback.
We use this data to develop a better basis to reasonably measure our progress in eliminating unlawful discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations with our patients and visitors and a better experience for our employees.
