All our governors sign a code of conduct when they are elected or appointed to the Council.
This sets out the 'rules', responsibilities and 'proper practices' that an individual governor is expected to take.
In this case the code of conduct outlines the guidelines and expectations set out by Monitor (the independent regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts).
As part of this agreement the Trust must provide some specific training, which enables governors to undertake a variety of roles. For example, before a governor can carry out an unannounced ward visit, they will have to have undertaken adult and child safeguarding education.
