Governor elections

Chesterfield Royal Hospital will soon be holding its governor elections with nine public governor seats becoming vacant, including two in Bolsover, four in Chesterfield and two in North East Derbyshire and one in Southern Derbyshire and West Nottinghamshire.

If elected, you would sit on the Royal’s Council of Governors where you will represent the views of your community members and work with the Board of Directors, advising on strategic plans. There are a number of committees that our public governors can become involved in and some have been appointed to development project boards, including those of the NGS Macmillan Unit, theatre refurbishment, the Chesterfield Birth Centre and Women’s Health Unit.

You will also be encouraged to undertake ward visits, speak to our patients about issues affecting them, assess and evaluate the patient meals and help to affect change. Other key responsibilities include appointing the Chair, non-executive directors and much more.

Elections have been launched with the deadline for nominations being 24th October 2018, our membership will be informed by post. Voting begins on 12th November with results announced on 4th December and those elected will be able to take their seats on 1st January 2019.

It’s a great opportunity to make a difference and represent your community but you must be a member to put yourself forward for election.  Call 01246 513217 or email CRHFT.Communications@nhs.net to find out more.
