Parking

From January 3 2017 car parking charges at the hospital increased by 10p for each time slot and a multi-visit pass (see below) increased to £17.50. This makes all of our on-site car parks (around 2300 spaces) exactly the same. Staff, and the majority of our patients and visitors already pay to park and a parking fee now also applies to the 100 ‘blue badge’ spaces at the front of the site. IMPORTANT: These disabled access spaces are still only for blue badge holders because they are close to the hospital’s main entrance.

All pay and display car parks for patients are 'pay on exit' with barrier controls - collect a ticket from the barrier upon entry and then use one of the yellow pay stations beside the main entrance, visitors entrance or scarsdale entrance before you go back to your car when you are ready to leave.

Current visitor parking charges are:

Time Charge
up to 30 minutes FREE
30 minutes - 1 hour £2.10
1 - 2 hours £2.80
2 - 4 hours £3.80
4 - 24 hours £5.80

If you are likely to be visiting the hospital regularly then you can buy a 14 visit ticket from the shop@theRoyal in the main entrance. These tickets cost £17.50, there is no time limit on its usage and it works in the same way as a cash payment at the paystation.

Simply put your parking ticket into the pay machine and then enter the 14 visit pass when you are prompted for payment - the machine will then return your pass, followed by the parking ticket which you can then use at the barrier upon exiting the car park. For further information please contact security on (01246) 513634.
