Occupational Therapy

Head of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy - Sue Frost

Occupational Therapy focuses on rehabilitation through function that is task based e.g. facilitating a person’s discharge from hospital by assessing a patient’s ability to manage activities of daily living.  There is also an out patient service for Consultant and GP referred patients who have problems with using their upper limb, usually hand function.  All Occupational Therapists are HPC and British Association of Occupational Therapist registered.  Staff undertake specialist training to provide the most up to date evidence based treatment e.g. Post operative hand surgery, simulated work based assessments.  Splints and braces can be provided to aid function if appropriate.
