The story so far….
In January 2017, we successfully bid for, and received, two years funding from the Pears Foundation/#iwill Fund, which has enabled us to create the role of Young Volunteers Project Coordinator, dedicated to supporting young volunteers from the ages of 16 to 24.
Since December 2017, 101 young adult volunteers have given 5,085 hours supporting staff and enhancing patient experience – young volunteers now form 31% of the Trust’s volunteer workforce!
The project currently consists of a six to twelve months placement, rotating every twelve weeks between four different areas of the Trust – currently ED, Maternity/Neo Natal and two different wards. There are also additional one-off mini tasks to provide variety.
We partner with six different local schools and Chesterfield College to provide a structured approach to a meaningful volunteering experience. If you are interested in volunteering at Chesterfiled Royal Hospital as part of our project, please contact;
