We’re looking for an individual to join our Board of Directors¹ - someone with real drive and enthusiasm, who will share our passion for creating a hospital that gives patients the best possible care and offers our staff a great place to work.

Non-Executive Directors at Chesterfield Royal Hospital have the chance to see things from a different perspective. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate patient and staff experience first-hand, as well as the challenges and potentials within the organisation.

Rated ‘GOOD’ by the Care Quality Commission in 2017, you’d join an organisation that serves more than 400,000 people across North Derbyshire’s varied communities. We are the area’s largest employer - with 3,900 staff working at the hospital, in the community and in GP surgeries.

If you have a commensurate professional financial qualification, a solid background in finance or audit roles and perhaps have experience of rapid business transformation in a complex setting, we would be keen to hear from you.

¹ IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Eligibility

To be eligible to be appointed, or to continue to serve, as a non-executive director, a person must meet the criteria set out below:

  • They must live within the designated area of the Trust’s public constituency. The public constituency is outlined in full at Appendix 1 Recruitment Pack and covers: Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales and North Amber Valley, High Peak, North East Derbyshire, South Sheffield and Rotherham and Southern Derbyshire and West Nottinghamshire.
  • They must meet the criteria set out in the Care Quality Commission’s regulation 5: Fit and Proper Persons: Directors. Appendix 2 in the Recruitment Pack: Self-certification must be completed and returned with any application.

They must not be:

  • a member of staff of this Trust
  • disqualified by the criteria set out in paragraph 9.5 of the Trust Constitution outlined in Appendix 1 of the Recruitment Pack.
