Our volunteers support staff and patients and offer a helping hand or listening ear to make a patient’s hospital stay, or visit, as comfortable and as problem free as possible. We’re continuing to build our volunteer service and are looking for a team of people who are willing to give their time to help our dedicated workforce deliver the best possible quality care for our patients. There are currently 120 volunteers - aged from 16 years to no upper age limit - helping out in the Trust.

We’d like people to offer their time to, meet and greet patients in the busy Outpatient Suites, sit and chat with patients, offer refreshments, give support to staff who deal with patients living with Dementia, to support our very busy help desk and patient escorts, help out with fundraising and much more. We’re speaking with all departments and areas of the hospital to find out what opportunities are available and what we might be able to offer anybody interested in getting involved.

Perhaps you’ve been here for treatment and want to give something back, maybe you’ve always wanted to be involved with the hospital but not been sure how or perhaps you’ve got some time on your hands and want to do something worthwhile.

If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, click here to go to our new web based homepage where you can fill in an online application form

If you are interested in our Simulated Patient Role Click here to apply for our Simulated Patient Volunteer role

You are not committing to anything yet by letting us know that you are interested, it’s just so that our voluntary services team can find out a bit more about you and where you might be able to help and they will contact you directly to discuss your involvement further.

If you do not have access to a PC or the internet, the following alternatives are also available....

  • Email crhft.volunteer@nhs.net,
  • Download and complete a paper application form (see link below)
  • Telephone the Voluntary Service Team on 01246 516348
  • Arrange to call in for a chat to the Voluntary Services Office
