The Trust welcomed five students from two local schools as well as Chesterfield College to take part in the Nursing Cadetship Programme in April 2024.

The programme is a taster for a career in the nursing profession and a key part is the range of practical sessions enjoyed by the students in the Education Centre in preparation for time spent on the wards supported by the nursing team.

Time in clinical practice helps to develop some of those skills learnt in the classroom while providing a limited amount of patient care, under direct supervision, on a range of wards in the Trust.

Many of the students who take part in this programme go on to study nursing and eventually join the NHS workforce.

The students enjoyed their time in the Trust and would like to thank those who gave up their time to support our local youngsters and help develop our future workforce.
