Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) are 'one-stop shops' designed to provide a better patient experience by having a host of diagnostic facilities and services in one place. 

There are two Community Diagnostic Centres located in North East Derbyshire: 

  • Walton Hospital
  • Whitworth Hospital 

Services include blood tests (phlebotomy), ultrasound, Point of Care Testing, x-ray and CT scanning. More information about the services available at our CDCs can be found below. 

Please do let us know if you are unable to attend your appointment - this could free up a slot for someone else. You can confirm, change or cancel your appointment by contacting our Outpatients appointment helpline which is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays).

Services at Walton Hospital's CDC include:

How to make an appointment: 

For ultrasound and CT scan, you will be asked where you would like your scan by your GP or when you are asked to contact the booking team to make your appointment. You can choose Walton CDC for ultrasound and CT scan.

How to get here: 

Car parking is available on site, with disabled spaces around the back of the hospital near to the entrance. The X17 and 90 buses travel to Walton Hospital.

There are direct buses to Whitworth Hospital from Derby, Belper, Matlock, Bakewell, Wirksworth and Buxton. 

Car parking is free at Whitworth Hospital and disabled spaces are available at the front of Whitworth hospital.
