The NHS App gives you a simple, secure way to view key information from Chesterfield Royal Hospital on your phone or tablet. It can help you keep track of appointments, letters and updates without needing to wait for the postman.

Urgent alert

The NHS App is not for emergencies. If you need urgent help, use 111 (or 999 in an emergency).

What you can do right now wth the NHS App at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

At the moment, patients can use the NHS App to:

  • View outpatient appointments and appointment letters

  • View Radiology appointments and appointment letters

  • Read clinical letters

  • Respond to waiting list updates. (Every 12 weeks, if you’re on an outpatient waiting list, you’ll be asked if you still wish to remain on it)

  • View some hospital test results

To get alerts and messages, you’ll need to turn notifications on in the NHS App and in your phone settings. If notifications are off, you may need to check the App manually.

For details on how to enable notifications, see this video from NHS England.

We’re working towards offering more NHS App features in future, including:

  • View all clinical letter attachments

  • View all hospital test results

  • Request to cancel and rebook appointments

(We’ll update this page as new features go live.)

Step 1: Download the NHS App

Step 2: Create an NHS login

  • When you open the App, you’ll be guided through setting up NHS login. You may be asked to prove who you are (this helps keep your information secure).

Step 3: Find your hospital information

  • Once you’re signed in, look for your hospital appointments/letters area in the App and follow the on-screen steps.

If you are a parent, carer or support person, you may be able to access someone’s information through the NHS App using linked profiles/proxy access (subject to eligibility and access rules).

If you’re having trouble getting set up, try these quick fixes:

  • Check you’re using the latest version of the NHS App

  • Turn notifications on (in the App and your phone settings)

  • Make sure your NHS login details are correct
