Download the Macmillan Information and Support Centre App. The app is an excellent source of information and support which can help you find answers and local information. Download the CMISC App from the Apple Store or Android Store.

Staff.pngThe Macmillan Information and Support Centre is based in the NGS Macmillan Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Anyone affected by cancer can drop into the centre to meet the staff and volunteers who will help you find the information and support you need. Some services are by appointment only.

All our services are free and include:

  • Look Good Feel Better
    Skincare and makeup workshops for women. You can book a local workshop online at ww.lgfb.co.uk or ring 01246 516406 or call in the centre. Workshops are also available for men's skincare online booking via www.lgfb.co.uk
  • Wig Fitting 
    Trendco provides a wig fitting service on Fridays. To book phone the Trendco office on 0115 947 5316 who will arrange an appointment in the Macmillan centre in Chesterfield. We can also give you a list of additional suppliers.
  • Headwrappers
    Headwrappers  is a monthly workshop, a practical session showing different ways to tie a scarf and other headwear alternatives. A free item of headwear is available for those affected by cancer treatment. Please call 01246 516406 or book online booking via www.lgfb.co.uk.
  • Welfare and benefits service 
    This service provides help for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis in financial need. This is a telephone service with some face-to-face appointments. To arrange to speak with an advisor, call 01246 516406.

We have a service for parents or main carers diagnosed with advanced cancer to help them talk with and prepare their children for the future. To organise an appointment either in the centre or on the ward please ring 01246 516406.

You can visit the centre or phone to arrange an appointment with one of the Macmillan information staff to talk through your concerns and needs. We can explain what local and national support is available to help you and this may include counselling services, care provision, support groups and support with a wide range of issues a cancer diagnosis may have had on you and your family.
