CRH Chair Jackie Square.pngJackie was appointed following a competitive recruitment process led by the Trust’s Council of Governors. She brings more than six years’ experience chairing NHS organisations across acute, mental health, community and specialist services, with a strong track record of leading boards through complex change, strengthening governance, and supporting organisations during periods of significant pressure and transition.

Jackie brings extensive senior leadership experience: She previously served as Chair of Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, leading the organisation through post‑pandemic recovery, workforce pressures and greater system integration. Before this, she held a joint Chair role at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust, where she focused on strengthening governance, risk management and partnership working. Earlier in her career, Jackie was Chief Executive of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, leading major organisational transformation, regulatory reform, including revalidation, and restoring financial stability.

Jackie said: “I’m proud to be Chair of Chesterfield Royal Hospital. I live locally and care deeply about the role this Trust plays in our community. Having chaired NHS organisations across different services and systems, I know how important strong governance, honesty and partnership working are, especially in challenging times.

“I’m a strong believer in listening to patients and colleagues, supporting leaders to do the right thing, and stewarding the Trust responsibly so it can continue to serve local people now and in the future.”
