Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services (DSFS) have taken home two Gold awards at the Awards for Excellence in Waste Management for the NHS in England 2026.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed experienced medical leader and Consultant ENT surgeon Susan Douglas as its new Chief Medical Officer.

The second phase of Walton Hospital’s Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is now complete, further enhancing access to diagnostic services for patients across North Derbyshire following a total of £12.7m investment in diagnostic facilities at the community hospital site.

The inspection, which took place in June 2026, found that the Trust's Medical Care core service had improved significantly.
